NEET MDS 2024 Postponement Matter in Supreme Court
Masters of Dental Surgery aspirants approached the apex court against centre for not postponing NEET MDS exam date 2024.
Aspirants and student unions have been actively conducting social media campaigns and have also sent letters to the authorities, requesting them to postpone the NEET MDS 2024 exam to July.
In response to this, aspirants sought intervention from the Supreme Court, which decided to not make a decision on the exam postponement and instead directed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) to “take a call” on the matter within a week. However, despite the court’s directive, the ministry has not issued any statements regarding the postponement of NEET MDS exam.
Earlier, the bench of Supreme Court comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra heard the NEET MDS 2024 postponement plea on February 21.
However, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) on March 8 announced an extension of the internship deadline until June 30. This decision was made in response to numerous requests from students whose internship completion dates had been pushed beyond the original deadline of March 31. As a result, the NEET MDS registration process will be reopened for candidates who complete their internships between April 1 and June 30.
