Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed Israel’s discontent to President Vladimir Putin regarding Russia’s vote in favour of a UN Security Council resolution calling for a Gaza ceasefire.
Netanyahu conveyed his dissatisfaction with Russia’s stance on Israel, both at the UN and in other forums.
“The prime minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the positions expressed against Israel by Russian representatives at the UN and in other forums,” according to a statement released by Netanyahu’s office on Sunday

“Any country that had been struck with a criminal terrorist assault such as Israel experienced would have reacted with no less force than Israel is using,” he told Putin, reported AFP.
The United States vetoed the resolution on Friday, which sought a ceasefire in the ongoing Gaza conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Netanyahu reminded Putin of a surprise attack by Hamas on southern Israel on October 7, resulting in the reported death of 1,200 people, predominantly civilians, according to Israeli officials.
In Israel’s subsequent retaliatory air, ground, and sea operations against Hamas, the Gaza Strip witnessed a significant toll, with at least 17,700 casualties, mostly women and children, as reported by the territory’s Hamas-run health ministry.
