The first look of the show featuring stars John Bradley, Game of Thrones fame, Jess Hong and Sea Shimooka was unveiled. 3 Body Problem has David Benioff and D.B. Weiss of “Game of Thrones” and Alexander Woo “The Terror: Infamy,” “True Blood” as the executive producers.
The series is an adaptation of the best selling book series “The Three Body Problem” written by Cixin Liu. The 3 Body Problem also stars Benedict Wong, Eiza González, Jovan Adepo, Alex Sharp, Saamer Usmani, Liam Cunningham, Rosalind Chao, Jonathan Pryce, Marlo Kelly, Ben Schnetzer and Zine Tseng.
The series tells the story about a young woman, whose fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a close-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with an unflinching detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.
In the clip released by Netflix, Jin Cheng (Hong) shows Jack Rooney (Bradley) a metal device which resembles a virtual reality helmet, but when Jack notices, there is no screen and no headphone jack and not even a charging port, he speculates that it could be a beta tester, but Jin says he doesn’t understand the power of the helmet.
When Jack puts on the helmet, he is instantaneously taken to a desolate wasteland with an old pyramid in the middle of the desert. His entire outfit has been altered to resemble an old Chinese cloth. Suddenly, Shimooka’s voice reverberates behind him, declaring, “You were not invited,” as she slashes her sword and puts a stop to the scene.The series has been co-written by Showrunners Benioff, Weiss and Woo.
