New Olympia Le-Tan x Tatiana de Nicolay collab is inspired by India

Net-A-Porter will be among the select number of retailers stocking the new limited edition Olympia Le-Tan collab with Tatiana de Nicolay, a French illustrator who works on the creation of high-end products and produces artwork in watercolours. 

This new clutch bag collection from the London-born designer’s Paris-based business was inspired by India and features four clutches drawn from de Nicolay’s “travels and diverse cultural experiences”.

It’s an interesting collection that combines her love of watercolour and her exploration of ancient crafts and techniques.

Olympia Le-Tan CEO Aude Sergent, said de Nicolay’s “unique perspective and artistic sensibility bring an exciting dimension to our brand”.

And de Nicolay herself added that she “aimed to craft pieces that stand out, exude playfulness, and bring joy to those who wear them. I especially admire the refined embroidery work on the Jaipur bag. The Tiger Sanctuary model exudes true strength; one almost feels as though the tiger is about to emerge from the clutch. Finally, Chit Chaat Chai and Karma Holi Moly embody the playful essence of the collection, while also paying homage to Indian symbols and traditions.”

As mentioned, Net-A-Porter will be carrying the new pieces when they launch on 23 April, with Capitol, Curator 13, Moda Operandi, and Cabana Canary also on the stockist list, along with Olympia Le-Tan’s own webstore. Prices will range from €1,590 to €1,930.

Olympia Le-Tan releases a series of ultra-luxe limited collabs through the year, with each one a strong contrast to its predecessors. Back in January, for instance, it launched a very different one with Paramount Pictures to celebrate “the iconic 90s aesthetic among others”. 

The designer created a collection featuring two exclusive bags inspired by the film Mean Girls, two bags paying homage to cult classic Clueless, and a piece capturing the essence of Saturday Night Fever.
