Nigel Buck: AMSA Challenger Jet & specialist officers deployed to search for missing 41yo Fitzroy Crossing man

An extensive land search is underway in a bid to find a 41-year-old man who went missing in the Kimberley on Tuesday night.

Nigel Buck has not been seen or heard from since he left his home in the Yungngora Community, near Fitzroy Crossing, about 11pm.

Police said it was extremely out of character for him, with major concerns held for his welfare.

It is believed Mr Buck left his residence in the Yungngora Community, near Fitzroy Crossing, about
11:00pm last night, Tuesday 20 August 2024, and he has not been seen or heard from since, which is
out of character.
Police hold concerns for Mr Buck’s safety and welfare.
Mr Buck is known to frequent the Fitzroy Crossing and Derby areas.
He is described as being dark skinned, 175-180cm tall, of medium build with brown hair and brown eyes.
It is believed Mr Buck may be wearing a polo shirt with large crab and fish images on the front.

The search for Mr Buck is continuing on Thursday, with police deploying extensive land and air resources to search the vast landscape.

The resources dispatched include police officers from various stations, drone operators, the AMSA Challenger Jet and specialist officers from the Perth-based Emergency Operations Unit.

Mr Buck is known to frequent the Fitzroy Crossing and Derby areas.

He is described as being dark skinned, 175cm to 180cm tall, of medium build with brown hair and brown eyes.

It is believed Mr Buck may be wearing a polo shirt with large crab and fish images on the front.
