Nordstrom Inc. announced on Friday the appointment of Alexis DePree to the role of chief operating officer.
DePree first joined Nordstrom in January 2020, as executive vice president and chief supply chain officer, prior to which she held senior leadership roles at Amazon and Target.
In the role, the executive will support supply chain operations, transportation, inventory operations, enterprise operations, and store operations, now with an expanded title that better reflects the breadth of the work these teams are doing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
“With Alexis’s support, our teams have made meaningful progress in several different areas: we’ve strengthened our supply chain network, dramatically improved our speed to customer, and reduced costs,” said DePree in a statement.
“We continue to make progress implementing RFID technology and creating operational consistency across our stores. As we focus on improving operational efficiency across the business, Alexis and her team will continue to be integral to our success.”
In its most recent trading update, Nordstrom said first-quarter revenue rose 4.8% to $3.34 billion, compared to LSEG expectations of a 0.6% rise to $3.20 billion. It posted a quarterly loss of 24 cents, compared to estimates of an 8-cent loss.
