North African giants to sign Percy Tau from Al Ahly?

Egyptian giants Zamalek could pounce on Al Ahly and Bafana Bafana striker Percy Tau.

The 30-year-old is reportedly unhappy at the club after his relationship with coach Marcel Koller broke down. Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, Tau scored only once in three months. His contract with the Red Devils expires at the end of the current season.

Should Percy Tau move from Ahly to rivals Zamalek, the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns star might miss a chance to play in the Club World Cup. Zamalek legend Ahmed Hossam Mido has urged his former club to sign Percy Tau this summer

“Zamalek has done well in the transfer period by signing quality midfielders, especially, Nasser Maher, who plays with passion. In my opinion, he is a very important player,” Mido said as per KingFut.

“If there are more signings in the summer, Zamalek will return to its natural strength and compete for all the trophies.

“I urge the Zamalek fans to be patient with the club’s board because change takes time, and the club is on the right track in all sports.

Zamalek urged to sign Al Ahly star Percy Tau this summer

“I hope Percy Tau joins Zamalek,” Mido added. The Zamalek board should fight to sign him because his contract with Al Ahly is nearing its end.”

Percy Tau might opt to renew his contract with Ahly or choose to join another team of his choice. Zamalek doesn’t look like an attractive choice for the former Downs star given the club’s recent struggles.

Both Zamalek and Ahly have struggled this season in the Egyptian Premier League with an unfamiliar team topping the log. Pyramids top the EPL and look set to win their first title since getting promoted to the first division football.

Zamalek told to sign Percy from the Red Devils

The striker flopped at the Afcon tournament, managing to score only once for Bafana Bafana. Having struggled for game time at Al Ahly, reports suggested the Percy Tau may have had a fallout with Koller.

Former Al Ahly star Ahmed Abou Moslem said Tau had not lived up to expectations as per Kick-Off. The tension between Tau and Swiss coach Koller has caused their relationship to reach a dead end, according to Mosiem. Percy Tau’s time at Ahly might be coming to an end but it remains to be seen if Zamalek can pounce on the 30-year-old star.
