When last did you hear from Orlando Pirates legend Happy Jele? The former skipper believes the Buccaneers can be Betway Premiership champions.
HAPPY JELE ON LEAGUE GLORY
“Sundowns yes, they have got a change of coaches but players are still there, they are the same players of last season so we can’t judge them now to say they won’t win the league but obviously we want the change. The change needs to happen,” Jele said via Goal.
“No, no no, there must be a change, it’s been a while that Sundowns have been taking the league and I think Pirates are capable of winning the league this season considering the way they played against SuperSport United as well as the way they played in the preseason,” the former Orlando Pirates skipper added.
“There is a little bit of change or improvement to the team compared to last season at Pirates because they have got a couple of players who can help the team win the league,” Jele added.
ZAKHELE LEPASA TO LEAVE ORLANDO PIRATES?
Mmh, Orlando Pirates are probably reluctant to release Zakhele Lepasa, but might not have a choice on the matter.
It’s been clear to see. The Sea Robbers coach Jose Riveiro prefers Tshegofatso Mabasa and Evidence Makgopa ahead of Lepasa. Meanwhile, reports say the likes of Cape Town City and SuperSport United are keen to sign the 27-year-old Lepasa from Orlando Pirates.
Edward Motale, a former Bucs captain, believes the Soweto-born forward should not depart.
“He is still young. There is no need for him to rush. He should not leave Orlando Pirates,” Magents told Soccer Laduma.
“He should stay and fight for his place in the team. We have all seen what he can do when he is on form.
“Now that he is returning from injury he should give his best and show us his capabilities of playing for a big team like Orlando Pirates,” added 1995 CAF Champions League winner.
“He has been on loan before and did very well. Now it’s time for him to stay and fight. Fight very hard.
“For him to bounce back to the national team he should stay at Pirates and fight. That fighting spirit will take him to the starting line-up at Pirates, then gradually to the national team,” the former Orlando Pirates right-back continued.
“We have seen what he can do when wearing the Bafana jersey. So I say to him to stay at Pirates. Win things and bounce back to the national team. He is capable of doing all that,” Motale concluded.
