Oscar Cortes gives Rangers fans transfer food for thought – ‘this is as good as a scarf pic for me’

TRANSFER fever is setting in as Thursday’s late night deadline ticks ever closer.

Scottish clubs have been, on the whole, quite busy so far this month – and it’s only going to get more frantic as the end of the window edges closer.

Celtic have only brought one player in, Rangers two… so far.

Philippe Clement admitted he would be one of the bosses working right up until 11.30pm on Thursday to get deals done and add to Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande already recruited.

Brazilian left-back Jefte is another who could arrive on Edmiston Drive this week as could Colombian Oscar Cortes.

But eager Gers fans reckon there’s something fishy about his switch – and it could be announced sooner rather than later… because of his DINNER.

Rather than fuel up ahead of a possible medical and move – he’s only gone and fuelled the rumour mill with his Monday evening meal!

The right winger certainly gave the blue side of Glasgow food for thought with his latest post to Instagram – that’s left Gers fans hungry for more.

And some are convinced he’s already in Britain judging by the food on display.

Cortes dined on some hotel room service and tucked into a healthy and tasty-looking tea of salmon, carrots and broccoli with a side salad.

And that was enough of a transfer ‘hint’ to send some fans into a food frenzy.

One wrote: “That 100% looks like a hotel room and the dinner looks more native to Britain. It’s the carrots and broccoli. This for me is as good as the scarf pic.”

Another added: “I hope that’s Scottish Salmon Oscar Cortes is enjoying.”

A third wrote: “Oscar Cortes in a hotel room on his Instagram story, get it announced Rangers.”

The winger is currently contracted to Lens but could be Gers’ third – or fourth – recruit this month.

Sunsport revealed last night the Gers were closing in on a deal for the 20-year-old on a loan with option to buy deal after he sat out his side’s Ligue 1 win over Toulouse.

Philippe Clement has already brought in two forward players in Fabio Silva – on loan from Wolves – and Mohamed Diomande who is still awaiting a work permit to complete his deal from FC Nordsjaelland.

A deal for Jefte depends on the left-back’s loan deal at APOEL Nicosia being torn up to pave the way for a deal to Glasgow from Fluminense in Rio de Janierio.

Meanwhile Hearts have secured Yan Dhanda on a pre-contract and are lining up THREE signings for the final week of the window.
