The Lumix GF8 sports a 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor, adhering to the Micro Four Thirds standard. The camera also supports a maximum ISO value of 25600, there’s full-HD video recording and burst mode of 5fps (AFC, 1-area AF). You get the same 3-inch touchscreen display that’s present on the GF7 with a 180-degree flip-up functionality. The camera automatically goes into selfie mode when you flip the display upwards. There’s also built-in Wi-Fi for quickly sharing your pictures from your smartphone.
The GF8 offers a wide variety of options to produce that perfect selfie, all in the camera itself. After capturing the selfie, one can tweak the picture further with Aesthetic Retouch, which lets you clear any blemishes on your skin, whiten your teeth or even give yourself a face-lift. You can auto-engage the shutter as well with the Face Shutter and Buddy Shutter functions, which essentially snap a picture if you wave your hand in front of the lens or if the camera detects two faces close to each other in the frame.
