EVERYONE is looking to save money at the moment and your TV could be a good place to start.
Rather than paying for subscriptions like Netflix there are actually hidden TV channels some people don’t even realise existed – all for free.
They are channels much like BBC One and ITV1 with a schedule except for one big difference.
These channels are all internet based.
The good thing about them is most don’t even require you to sign up as they’re totally free.
Of course, they’re supported by adverts to keep them this way.
LG and Samsung are just some of the manufacturers who have built in these special channels into their TV sets.
For people with an LG TV it’s available via an app called LG Channels.
Open it and there’s a load of TV series, movies and news channels.
Samsung TV Plus channels are largely themed around popular shows you’ve probably heard of before.
These range from Homes Under the Hammer to Come Dine With Me and Hell’s Kitchen.
If your smart TV doesn’t have its own channels, some other streaming services might be able to help.
Search for the Pluto TV app which has a number of themed channels.
Freevee is Amazon’s ad-based version with a similar offering – and is the new home to Neighbours.
Even ITVX has themed-channels.
There you’ll find channels like Back to the 90s with hits such as Baywatch and a channel dedicated to everything Love Island.
