Perth family reveals hefty prices of Royal Show after spending $2300 in one day

A family of five revealed the “outrageous” prices of this year’s Perth Royal Show, after leaving the carnival having spent a staggering $2300.

In a video, posted to TikTok by @letstravelbaby, a family of five listed the entire costs of everything they spent during an entire day at the Royal Show, despite going in with a budget.

As the vlog kicked off with a few basic costs, including parking ($15), and an entry fee for the entire family ($69), the family was soon struck by a hefty lunchtime receipt — with three loaded chips and a drink each costing $60.

As the day went by, two rides on the Gravitron added up to $30, alongside two carnival games costing about $10 per go.

In an attempt to buy the popular show bags “before they sold out”, the parents purchased one bag for each kid, adding up to $36 in total.

But after visiting Show Bag Alley, the parents made their first budget mistake after “accidentally” buying two pricey pairs of socks — costing $30 each — having forgotten to check the price before they had already paid.

Other food and drink throughout the day, including cotton candy and two cocktails, managed to reel in a hefty price tag of $402.

Just as the family were about to head home, the group decided to make one last stop at the ‘funky monkey bars’ showroom.

But when the parents saw how much their kids were enjoying the playground, the pair decided to splurge one final time and purchase a monkey bar set as a Christmas present — costing them $1900.

Leaving the showgrounds with “emptied wallets”, the family’s total spending for the day raked up to a whopping $2302.

Users soon took to the comments to state how “ridiculous” the prices were at this year’s Royal Show in Perth.

“The price of the rides is absolutely outrageous,” one user said.

Another user added: “I would have fainted at the price of the socks 😂”.

“Man everything is so damn good expensive there,” commented one user.

After a two-week-long carnival, Perth’s popular Royal Show has now concluded for the year, believed to have brought in about 350,000 people.
