A woman from the south of the river today found out she was, in fact, $1 million richer after spending the long weekend in suspense.
The 70-year-old winner had an inkling she had struck it lucky in Friday’s Millionaire Medley, but she wasn’t able to confirm the win until Lotterywest kiosks re-opened this morning.
“I saw on Friday that I had all six numbers, and I saw online that there was one WA winner for the Friday draw,” she said.
“I thought, it can’t be me; maybe there’s another winner.”
This isn’t the first time she had a crack at the new game since it launched just over a week ago.
After buying an unsuccessful Slikpik 18 online for Wednesday’s Millionaire Medley last week, the woman in her 70s decided to re-use the same numbers for Friday’s draw.
The winner said she is “completely overjoyed” and plans to spend the cash on helping her two children and splurging on some holidays.
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said Millionaire Medley is an upgrade from the Monday and Wednesday Lotto that offers an extra draw on Friday to give six players the chance of winning $1 million.
“In less than two weeks, WA has already celebrated two Division One wins thanks to the new game.”
The win marks the 20th Division One Winner in WA for this year, who share a total prize pool of more than $28 million.
