Mother-of-two and porn star Perth’s Lucy Banks has gone after people who shame mums who are sex workers and provided business advice for those looking to enter the industry.
In an Xposed Podcast interview with high-profile Australian escort Samantha X aka Amanda Goff, Banks said she was “first and foremost” a mother.
“Every single parent says I would die for my kids. . . I would do anything for my kids. . . but as soon as I do OnlyFans or someone does sex work — all of a sudden it’s ‘you’re a bad parent’,” she said.
“No, we’re not bad parents we’re doing whatever it takes to provide for our kids.
“I’ve been able to stay at home, I’m at school events and I don’t have to have a nanny or anything like that.”

Goff added that mums in the industry come up against a lot of judgement and stigma.
“I’m the best mum but I also do porn for work and I can be both and I can be multifaceted like that,” Banks said.
“I don’t understand it. When I talk about my work with people quite often they’ll come back and say ‘But you’re a mum’, but so what? How do you think I became a mum?”
Banks revealed that her kids found out about her porn career from another adult. She said her eldest came home and asked if she did OnlyFans.
“I was like ‘Do you know what OnlyFans is?’ He was like ‘Yeah, it’s where you sell nudes’,” she said.
“I was like ‘Does that make you feel weird? Do you want to talk about it?’ he was like ‘Nup it’s fine, people do worse for money, people kill people for money, you heard of hitmen?’”
Now he checks in with Banks to see if she’s had a good month.
Banks also opened up on the creepiest requests she’s gotten from her OnlyFans subscribers.
“The creepiest request I’ve got is people asking me for photos of my kids,” she said.
“I don’t put photos of my kids on social media. This is my story not their story, I chose this life not them.”
She added that men will also send her photos of their kids.
“I’m like stop sending photos of your kids to strangers,” Banks exclaimed.
Business advice from a porn star
1. Remember you are a professional in this industry.
“People don’t look at it (porn stars) as professionals or businesswomen and we should be looked at as businesswomen because guess what? We pay taxes like everybody else, I had to apply to the bank for my mortgages like everybody else,” Banks said.
“I’m a businesswoman. I have a company. I’m a director. This isn’t a little thing we do because we’re horny all the time this is a job.
“Take yourself seriously before you start asking other people to take you seriously.”
2. Network
Banks said people should network with fellow porn stars and with people outside the industry.
“The more people that are on OnlyFans. . . the more that stigma starts to erode,” she said.
“Talk to people that aren’t in your industry. Talk to people that are you know… your accountants, your lawyers, your bankers.
“You need to have a group of people working together for the common good.
3. Back yourself
“Going into business in general you will get a lot of doubt and you will get a lot of haters,” she said.
“There will be nine people telling you you can’t do it and only one person telling you that you can. You should be the one person telling you, you can.”
4. Be open
“If it’s going to ruin your life when people find out. If you don’t want people finding out. This isn’t the industry for you because everyone will find out.”
