Robson, of Carluke, Lanarkshire, sent one girl a book he wrote called ‘The Bin Brigade’ which was packed with explicit language and details on sex acts and told her to keep it a secret.

He later rubbed her thighs to remove dog hair after he had driven her and another girl to an event in his car.

She put her hands behind her legs to stop him and later said she thought his behaviour was ‘creepy’.

He then sent her an email with song lyrics he had written and told her: “It’s intensely private between you and me if that’s ok?”

Robson sent another message saying: “You should get someone to take a photo of you tomorrow, perhaps you could look like you are working on some important paperwork.

“Wear a pair of glasses to look really nerdy and be chewing a pen looking all serious with a Fleetwood Mac LP cover in the background? Deal?”

The girl was disturbed at the ‘sexual connotation’ and revealed he would call her ‘gorgeous’ and told her she would look ‘hot’ going to church in a dress.

Robson was reported and it emerged he had been inappropriately contacting two other girls he was tutoring via Zoom.

He repeatedly sent one girl messages and in one asked her to send him a video of her twerking.

Robson appeared at Lanark Sheriff Court and admitted four stalking charges involving the girls who were aged between 15 and 17.

All of the offences were in breach of section 39(1) of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act and occurred between March and November 2022.

Sheriff Siobhan Connelly ordered him to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work and be under supervision for two years.

The sheriff ruled his behaviour had a ‘significant sexual element’ and put him on the sex offenders’ register for two years.

Michael Poggi, defending, said: “I invite the court to step back from a custodial sentence and follow a course where he is made subject of a community based disposal.

“His registration will be revoked and there will be no contest to that when the relevant authorities come to that.”

Sheriff Connelly said: “There can be no doubt that this involved a sexual element and I have considered all of the factors, the approaches made by you and your position of trust and have concluded this amounts to a significant course of conduct with a significant sexual element.
