The Central Energy Fund (CEF) has confirmed the price increases for South Africa’s diesel and petrol car owners for March 2024.
The increases will come into effect from midnight on Tuesday, 5 March.
Both grades of petrol (93 and 95) will increase by 121 cents per litre inland and at the coast, while diesel 0.05% will rise by 106 cents per litre.
Diesel 0.005% will see a 119 cents per litre price hike.

FUEL PRICE IN SOUTH AFRICA IMPACTED BY TWO MAIN FACTORS:
1. The international price of petroleum products, driven mainly by oil prices
2. The rand/dollar exchange rate used in the purchase of these products

At the time of publishing the brent crude oil price is $83.91 a barrel.
Exchange rate
At the time of publishing the rand/dollar exchange rate is R19.03/$.
The final overall price changes for both petrol and diesel will be confirmed in the weeks ahead with the new prices coming into effect at midnight on Tuesday, 5 March.
