Raise your glass for Pink and Willow Sage Hart’s latest performance.
The mother-daughter duo hit the stage on Thursday for the fourth and final night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Pink, 44, and Willow, 13, wore coordinating black outfits, both keeping their hair short and accessories to a minimum as three other singers and a guitarist joined them. The duo performed the acoustic version of Pink’s 2017 hit song “What About Us.”
After the “So What” artist started the show, she sweetly touched her daughter’s back to lend support as it was her time to shine.
Fans flocked to social media to share their admiration for Willow’s talent.
One X user wrote beneath a clip from the DNC, “Her daughter was amazing,” while another chimed in, “Unbelievably talented! Her daughter is following in her footsteps!”
Rounding out the sweet feedback, one person touched on Pink’s motherly support, saying, “I loved how she kept putting an arm to Willow’s back for encouragement/support. That was a big audience!” while another wrote, “It was AMAZING!!! Loved it and thanks for the post… playing it again!”
Willow is no stranger to joining her mom on stage. The teenager has accompanied Pink on various occasions throughout her Summer Carnival Tour in 2023 and 2024.
But these days, Willow has stepped away from tour life to follow her own dreams in theater.
“This weekend’s shows were Willow’s last few on tour before she takes time away to follow her dreams. I promised I wouldn’t cry,” Pink wrote on Instagram in June. “I DID NOT however, promise I wouldn’t hyperventilate through our hug.”
She added, “It’s wild to watch your children grow up and out of you, but I’m beyond proud. We all are. I’m gonna miss you so much.”
The footage showed Pink and Willow talking backstage as the Grammy winner asked the young star to fill her in on what she’s planning to do when she gets home.
“I want you to tell me all the things. You’re leaving me. Why would you ever do that?” teased Pink. “What are you doing when you get home, what are you looking forward to?”
And Willow, in fact, has big plans waiting for her.
She coyly smiled before telling her famous mom that she would be in a production of “Bye Bye Birdie.”
It seems that this was always the path the daughter of Pink and motorcyclist Carey Hart would take.
“You fell in love with “Mamma Mia!” Pink recalled. “I remember when you came out on stage for the first time in “Mamma Mia!” and I was like, ‘Who is that person?’ I had never seen you so big and like, your energy was six times your body, it was amazing. I was blown away.”
Willow even noted she dreams of professionally pursuing theater and being on Broadway.
“You have your own lane and you want to be in it and I love that for you,” Pink told her eldest child. “I will tell you that in this last recital, I saw a version of you that I didn’t know existed. And it is really wild to watch you grow up and grow out of me.”
And it’s a full circle moment, as Willow took the stage with her mom in June of last year to open the Summer Carnival tour.
The “Sober” singer watched in awe as Willow, then 12, belted out the lyrics to their song “Sunshine.” A guitarist accompanied Willow as she wrapped up the performance to the audience’s massive applause.
Pink continued shaking her head and shrugging her shoulders in disbelief at Willow’s talent.
Afterward, Carey, who also shares son Jameson, 7, with Pink, took to Instagram to gush over his wife and daughter’s moment.
“Proud of Willz to get up on stage w/ mama @pink !!!!!,” he captioned the Instagram video. “Must be a surreal moment for mama to have w/ her lil girl on stage. Looks like 1st show of the tour kicked ass!!!!!”
