A plane crashed in the parking lot of a Texas shopping center Tuesday, just feet away from the front door of a popular diner.
The single-engine Mooney M20 burst into flames at 6 p.m. outside of Mama’s Daughter’s Diner and Nail Addiction in the Midway Park neighborhood of Plano, a city 20 miles north of Dallas.
Social media posts show the small plane and at least one other vehicle on fire.
Only the pilot was on board, the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed.
Their status is unknown.
The Air Park-Dallas Airport is less than a half mile from the crash site.
The circumstances around the crash and whether any bystanders were injured remain unclear.
