Clothes shopping can be tough for curvy women, with many plus-size ladies complaining about the lack of choice, colour and fabric in mainstream fashion.
But until now there was one item that wasn’t just hard to find in larger sizes, it was pretty much impossible.

Over the last few years the category has taken off with many big brands launching their own range alongside all the smaller ones.
But many of these ranges only cover up to mid-sizes 12-16, meaning plus size women have been left out.
It was a gap that plus size fashion brand Taking Shape was keen to fill and in 2022 it trialled a range of moderate flow undies.
They sold out online within days.
“I was really happy to see these, as these type of briefs are not typically available in plus size,” said one customer.
“These pants are MARVELLOUS. Taking Shape is to be congratulated in offering these, as SO many women need them!” said another.
With the demand there, Taking Shape has gone on to launch a whole range of undies, including the brand’s staple anti-chafe shorts, which provide extra coverage around the bottom and thighs.
There are undies for day time and night time use, in bright and plain patterns and all the styles are available up to a size 30.
“I bought two pairs the day they came out and OMG they really do the job and they’re comfortable to wear!” one customer cheered.
“I was really excited by the new colour period panty, I bought the purple floral… 10 out of 10 for a change to just the boring old black panty,” said another.
“Wouldn’t be with out them. Have six pairs and are so reliable,” said one woman.
The Taking Shape range is made from a soft and breathable bamboo viscose blend fabric, known for its hypoallergenic properties and ability to regulate body temperature.
Taking care of the undies is easy and Taking Shape recommends rinsing until water runs clear followed by a delicate machine wash.
