International clothing retailer Primark announced on Wednesday the opening of a new distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida, as well as four new store openings.

Situated in North Jacksonville, the newly inaugurated distribution center boasts an expansive warehouse space spanning over 550,000 square feet. The opening aligns with Primark’s vision to strengthen its presence in the U.S., particularly in the Southern states, including Florida and Texas.
In tandem with the unveiling of the distribution center, Primark has unveiled plans for four new store openings at prominent locations, including Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, Virginia; Mall at Prince George’s in Hyattsville, Maryland; CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin, Tennessee; and Katy Mills in Katy, Texas.
“We’ve seen growing demand for Primark stores across the US, particularly in our southern locations where we’ve even expanded our store footprint in our Sawgrass Mills store to meet customer demand,” said Kevin Tulip, president of Primark U.S.
“The opening of this distribution center in Jacksonville comes at the perfect time for the brand and our customers as we set our sights on continued growth across the US, including in Florida, Texas, as well as our first store in Tennessee, which we announced today. We’re thrilled to continue to bring ‘Primania’ to new customers with our expansion.”
Looking ahead, with the support of the Jacksonville distribution center, Primark aims to further expand its footprint in Florida, with plans for future store openings in Orlando and beyond.
To facilitate its operations, Primark plans to utilize the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) for importing cargo. JAXPORT’s strategic location, within a day’s truck drive of nearly 100 million U.S. consumers, positions it as an ideal gateway for Primark’s logistical needs.
“We welcome Primark to Jacksonville and are thrilled to be a part of the global retailer’s expansion in the United States,” added Eric Green, CEO of the Jacksonville Port Authority.
“As new European ocean carrier services call our port, it further strengthens our connections to businesses throughout Europe, which is a target growth market for us, and supports jobs and economic impact for our city and state.”
This is Primark’s second distribution center in the U.S., in addition to Bethlehem, PA. Currently operating 24 stores across nine states in the U.S., Primark has ambitious plans to expand its footprint to 60 stores nationwide by 2026.
