Beside him was his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, who appeared well as she continues her preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with a form of cancer earlier this year.

“From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB,” Kate said in the short clip.

William added, “Well done to Team GB you’ve been an inspiration to us all.”

The video also included messages from Snoop Dog, David Beckham, and other former British athletes.

“Well done @teamgb, what an incredible journey!” The Prince and Princess of Wales added in the Instagram caption, posted on Monday morning.

“Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud!

“Here’s to celebrating every triumph at @paris2024 and looking forward to more from @paralympicsgb_official later in the summer.”

Fans were quick to flock to the comments to point out William’s new look.

“William unshaved haha, it’s been years since we’ve seen that, what a sight!” one said.

“Here for Will’s stubble,” one said as another added, “WILLIAM BEARD ERA IS BACK”.

Others joked that William was in “vacation mode” and another compared the facial hair to the prince’s look 16 years ago.

“I’m here for the rugged look it brings us back to the early 2000s when he had a beard,” a commenter said.

Great Britain ended the Olympics in seventh place while Australia finished fourth.

Ahead of Australia were the United States, China and Japan.

It makes Australia’s most successful Olympic Games with 18 gold medals, 19 silver and 16 bronze ending with a total of 53 medals.
