PSPCL ALM Recruitment exam 2024: The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has released the tentative dates for PSPCL Assistant Lineman recruitment exam 2024, against advertisement CRA 301/23, on its official website at pspcl.in.
According to the notice, the online examination is likely to be held between March 15 to April 7, 2024. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 2500 Assistant Lineman posts in the PSPCL. PSPCL will conduct the Assistant Lineman examination statewide using a computer-based online test. The exam will be divided into two parts: Part I and Part II. - This paper encompasses various aspects covering both occupational safety and technical knowledge. In terms of safety, candidates are expected to have a grasp of basic safety principles including personal protection, injury prevention, and first aid. Additionally, knowledge of hazard identification, safety signs, and the use of fire extinguishers is essential. This section comprises 50 questions.
- Moving on to the technical part, familiarity with fundamental electrical concepts such as electric current, resistors, and insulators is required. Understanding Ohm’s Law and basic electrical circuits, as well as the differences between Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC), is crucial. The syllabus further includes topics related to earthing methods, measurement instruments like ammeters and voltmeters, and transformers. Candidates are also expected to have a basic understanding of overhead transmission, distribution systems, sub-station equipment, and underground cables. This technical part comprises 70 questions.
- Moreover, proficiency in Punjabi grammar, general knowledge about Punjab state affairs, and reasoning skills are evaluated. Candidates will be tested on Punjabi grammar up to the 10th standard level, along with general knowledge about Punjab state affairs. The reasoning section includes questions on analogy, number system, counting figures, image-based questions, directions, blood relation, and mirror image. This section comprises 20 questions.
- Finally, candidates will be tested on simple arithmetic problems up to the 10th standard level. This arithmetic section comprises 10 questions.
