QS Asia University Rankings 2024: IIT Bombay ranks 1st in India, check list here

The QS Quacquarelli Symonds has released the QS Asia University Rankings 2024. Peking University has once again topped the rankings.
This year’s list is the biggest so far, including 856 colleges from 25 different places, with 148 being ranked for the first time. The University of Hong Kong moves up to the second position, while the National University of Singapore (NUS) takes the third spot.India has the most number of universities on the list, with 148 featured, which is 37 more than last year. Following India, Mainland China has 133 and Japan has 96 universities listed. Myanmar, Cambodia, and Nepal are included in the rankings for the first time.
IIT Bombay remains the top institution in India. Alongside it, IIT Delhi, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and the University of Delhi also ranked in the top 100 of the QS Asia University Rankings 2024. In total, 148 institutions from India are listed in these rankings.

Currently, India has the largest number of universities featured in higher education, totaling 148, which is an increase of 37 from the previous year. Following closely is Mainland China with 133 and Japan with 96 universities. Additionally, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Nepal are making their debut appearances in the featured list.
Commenting on India’s achievement, Ben Sowter, Senior Vice President (QS), noted, “The increasing visibility of Indian universities in the QS rankings reflects the dynamic expansion of India’s higher education landscape.”
He further added, “While the significant growth in the number of Indian institutions and their research contributions marks a noteworthy development in the region’s educational profile, it also illuminates the path ahead for India to further elevate its standing in the global academic community.”
