Queensland drivers will save 20 per cent on their car registration under a cost of living relief measure announced by the Queensland government.
Premier Steven Miles said the savings would apply for 12-months to light vehicle registrations from September 16, 2024.
It will also include motorcycles and light trailers.

Fees for a four-cylinder car will be reduced by $85, bringing the registration cost to $338.75, excluding Compulsory Third Party Insurance.
Concession cardholders will save almost $50, bringing their fee to $194.50, excluding Compulsory Third Party Insurance.
The announcement comes ahead of the state budget to be handed down on June 11.
It also follows a freeze on car registration cost increases announced at the end of 2023.
Miles said the 2024-2025 budget would include meaningful cost of living relief for Queenslanders.
“Every dollar counts, which is why I’m doing what matters to put money back in the pockets of Queenslanders,” Mile said.
“This initiative will save the 5.7 million light car owners here in Queensland hundreds of dollars over the 12 months – dollars that could be spent on groceries, rent, the mortgage or put into savings.”
Drivers will see the changes reflected on their registration bills from August.
