Racist graffiti scrawled across WA Athletics Stadium during junior state championships

A junior sports carnival has been targeted in a vile racist attack with disturbing graffiti covering buildings and stalls.

Organisers arrived on Sunday morning to find aggressive graffiti scrawled on the WA Athletics Stadium where hundreds of children were due to compete — the graffiti so vile we can’t show you.

The West Australian understands it is personal — directed at athletes under the age of 13.

“I am mortified, I think these events are meant to be for everybody, and I think it is really not in the spirit of athletics,” a parent told 7NEWS.

“Racist cowards. Go around writing everything they want but they are cowards at the end of the day.”

The racist messages were scrawled on the venue between competition days for the junior state championships.

“This is a place where there should be community and everyone cheering on and you don’t want to see things like that and you don’t want your kids to see things like that,” a parent said.

In a statement Athletics West said it strongly condemned the inappropriate messages.
