Ramaphosa shares a laugh with Malema and Dudu Zuma

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s light-hearted moments with Julius Malema and Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla is testament to the saying that there are “no permanent enemies in politics”.

Former president Jacob Zuma‘s daughter Duduzile has consistently trolled Ramaphosa on X (formerly Twitter) while Malema is arguably the one politician who is most critical of Ramaphosa and the ANC-led government.

RAMAPHOSA SHARES A LAUGH WITH MALEMA AND DUDUZILE

Malema is the former ANC youth league leader who does not mince his words even when it comes to his seniors in politics.

Over the years Malema has seemingly made it his mission to attack Ramaphosa and other politicians he disagrees with. He has also been accused of being rude and racist.

In 2022, the EFF leader accused Ramaphosa of trying to be white. He described him as a ‘white person who appears to be black’.

Juju has taken similar line of attacks before, accusing the head of state of ‘not caring’ about black citizens in SA. During an address in Stellenbosch, Malema said Ramaphosa is going through an identity crisis.

While responding to questions on his opening of Parliament address on Monday, Ramaphosa offered to educate Malema about apartheid-era politics which he said the former ANC youth league leader does not seem to understand well.

Malema had accused Ramaphosa of being an apartheid collaborator.

On the other hand, Duduzile has never been shy about her disdain for President Cyril Ramaphosa, one of her father’s political adversaries.

She has been critical of Ramaphosa since he defeated her father for the party leader position in the 2017 ANC conference held in Nasrec.

Duduzile has accused Ramaphosa of some of the most heinous things that one cannot even begin to fathom.

In 2023, Duduzile took a jab at the president, calling him a failure and urged him to give his deputy Paul Mashatile a chance.

“In Actual Fact, Before Cyril Declares a State Of Disaster And Admit That He Is A Failure, I Think It Is Only Fair That He Resigns And Gives Paul Mashatile A Chance To Try And Rectify His Deliberate Sabotage Of The Country!”

“I Think If Cyril Calls For A State Of Disaster, Us As A Country Must Private Prosecute The Government!” she wrote on X.

PRESIDENT SPOTTED WITH MK PARTY’S JOHN HLOPHE

The president was also spotted with impeached judge and uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party caucus leader in Parliament John Hlophe.

In February this year, Ramaphosa impeached Hlophe after he was found guilty of gross misconduct after he allegedly tried to influence Constitutional Court judges to rule in favour of Jacob Zuma in his corruption cases. Hlophe is the first South African judge to be impeached since the dawn of democracy in 1994.
