DENS PARK has been deemed playable – but NO final decision on tonight’s Dundee vs. Rangers clash has been made yet.
And we’ll have to wait a few hours more to find out what’s going to happen.
The Gers are in the north east ahead of tonight’s rescheduled clash with the Dee.
It was initially called off on March 17 after the Dens Park surface was deemed unplayable.
The decision was made by referee Don Robertson just 90 minutes before the scheduled kick-off – with Rangers ALREADY at the stadium.
This week, it’s been a sense of deja vu as the pitch has dominated the build-up.
Rangers travelled up to Dundee yesterday, but Philippe Clement was far from happy about the uncertainty and felt a decision should have been taken YESTERDAY.
A pitch inspection was scheduled for 11am this morning and that has been PASSED by Robertson, who is once again match referee.
However, the game is NOT yet on.
That’s because there’s ANOTHER inspection scheduled for 3.30pm this afternoon.
It’s been scheduled with torrential rain set to batter down in Dundee for much of the afternoon.
Rangers have broken their silence on the matter and have once again called out the “inconvenience” the situation is causing.
Echoing their manager’s comments yesterday, the club said they have been eager for a decision early as possible.
Rangers said: “Given the forecasted weather conditions in Dundee this afternoon, a further inspection is to be held at 3:30pm.
“Rangers has continued to insist that a final decision is made as early as possible for our travelling supporters, and fully understands the inconvenience this continues to cause.”
