RANGERS fans were in high spirits last night after their side won an away match against Spanish opposition for the first time ever to march on in the Europa League.
And none more so than Northern Irish fan Mal, who entertained TalkSPORT radio hosts Jason Cundy and Dean Saunders with an enthusiastic version of ‘The Blue Sea of Ibrox’ live from Seville as he phoned in while leaving the stadium.
He has just watched Philippe Clement’s men rack up a famous 3-2 win over Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.
But let’s just say that his vocal chords had taken a bit of a battering before and during the match – not to mention the 24 hours leading up to the game.
Asked by the hosts to give them a song, Mal duly obliged – even though with his voice breaking – it sounded almost like YODELLING at points.
Gers fans are already dreaming of making it to the final in Dublin and what would be a second final of this competition in three seasons.

And none more so than Mal, who has managed to get a four day break out of the trip before heading up on Saturday night on his way to Hampden for the Viaplay Cup final.
He said: “3-2 mate, we’ve just been let out of the stadium. Absolute buzzing mate.
“What a result for the Teddy Bears mate. Absolutely fabulous mate, we’re top of the table.
“This is how we sing, this is how we support our team.
“Man Utd fans take note. You go there and you sing your wee hearts out.
“We should have destroyed them, two soft goals we gave away and now that is us set up again.
“If we go to Dublin we will follow on – because that is where the final is going to be held.
“I’m going to chill out tomorrow and try to get my voice back.
“We’re flying that flag for Scottish football. Coefficiency points and we will be there, flying the flag mate.”
It was a great call – with Cundy and Saunders in stitches by this point.
Cundy said: “That is sensational, right, that is what football does to you – poor Mal’s voice.
“That is like a stag do. He has gone out on a Wednesday and he’s coming back on the Saturday.

“He’s got a four-day pass then he’s got the final at the weekend. What a boy.”
