AFTER being neck-and-neck with Celtic for much of the second-half of the season, Rangers ended up finishing seven points behind the Hoops in the race to be Premiership champions.
And one former Ibrox favourite was left raging with one of the current Light Blues stars as the Gers finished their league campaign by dropping yet more points.
A dramatic comeback win at Kilmarnock back on February 28 saw Rangers remain two points clear at the top of the table and very much in the midst of a dramatic title race.
But a horror run of league form saw Philippe Clement’s men end their league season by winning just four of their last 10 matches.
The latest of those games in which they dropped points was their final league match, a 3-3 draw at Tynecastle on Saturday.
Having fallen behind to a Lawrence Shankland strike, goals from Ross McCausland, Todd Cantwell and Fabio Silva had the Gers sitting comfortable with a 3-1 lead heading into the last ten minutes.

But Dexter Lembikisa brought the Jambos back into it before Kyosuke Tagawa struck in the fifth minute of injury time to secure a point for the Tynecastle side.
It was a finish that rather summed-up Rangers’ end to the season – and former Gers man Neil McCann was left incensed with one Light Blues man.
Fabio Silva struck the third Rangers goal in Gorgie.
After scoring in what will be his final league match for the club, the Portuguese striker turned around and pointed to the name on the back of his shirt, as well as gesturing to the fans.
It was a similar celebration to the one that received plenty of backlash from Gers fans when he scored against Kilmarnock at the start of the month.
This time, however, it’s McCann who’s been left less than impressed.
Appearing as a pundit on BBC Sportscene, the former Rangers winger admitted he was “annoyed” by Silva’s celebration.
And he accused the on-loan Wolves man of making it look like “it doesn’t bother” him if Rangers win or lose.
McCann blasted: “From a Rangers perspective, I can understand why Philippe Clement’s disappointment. You want to win every game.
“But the players have to ask themselves individually – do they want to win every game?
“And certain individuals for me are still showing that it doesn’t bother them.
“I pointed out Fabio Silva last week not working back, he’s doing it again today for the second goal. Standing there, loses possession to Lembikisa. Just walk.
“And then he’s got the audacity when he scores the third goal to point and tell everybody who he is.
“Well, the full-back knows who you are as he’s just looked at the back of your shirt as he’s running off you and going into the back of Yilmaz.
“I’m maybe sounding a bit annoyed but that sort of thing as a coach or a manager should really annoy you.
“Rangers lost the league last week. They should’ve gone to Tynecastle, done the business professionally, get off and prepare for a huge game next week.
“There’s no party time, there’s nothing to celebrate. Win the game, get your job done and look at next week.
“For me, I think Philippe Clement needs to look at that squad and say ‘that isn’t acceptable.'”
Despite their being little but pride to play for at Tynecastle, it was a game with a bit of needle.
Todd Cantwell and Kenneth Vargas clashed at one point, and the Jambos ace taunted the Rangers man on social media following the game.
The flashpoint during the game saw Vargas less than impressed with a collision with Cantwell, who was then barged to the floor and going head-to-head.
