RBI Recruitment 2023: Registration for 450 vacancies ends on Oct 4; Check exam details

The RBI Assistant Notification 2023 has been released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on its official website- rbi.org.in for 450 Assistant posts. The application registration process had opened on September 13.
The last day to register is October 4 (Wednesday).

The important dates for the recruitment of Assistant in Reserve Bank of India are as follows:

  • Registration link open: September 13, 2023 to October 04, 2023
  • Payment of Examination Fees (Online): September 13, 2023 to October 04, 2023
  • Schedule of Online Preliminary Test (Tentative): October 21, 2023 & October 23, 2023
  • Schedule of Online Main Test (Tentative): December 02, 2023

Eligibility criteria
The detailed eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant in the Reserve Bank of India are as follows:

  • Age limit: The candidate must be between 20 and 28 years of age as of September 1, 2023. However, age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to certain categories as per the government rules.
  • Educational qualifications: The candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
  • Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Number of attempts: There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the examination.

Application fee details
The details of the application fee are as follows:

  • For SC/ST/PwBD/EXS candidates, the application fee is Rs. 50/- (intimation charges only) plus 18% GST.
  • For General/OBC/EWS candidates, the application fee is Rs. 450/- (including intimation charges) plus 18% GST.
  • Staff candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.

Application process
The application process for the recruitment of an Assistant in the Reserve Bank of India can be explained in the following step-by-step process:

Step 2: Read the instructions carefully and click on the “Click here for New Registration” button.
Step 3: Enter your basic details such as name, contact details, and email ID. A provisional registration number and password will be generated and displayed on the screen. Note down the registration number and password.
Step 4: Upload your scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration in the prescribed format and size.
Step 5: Fill in the application form with your personal, educational, and other details.
Step 6: Preview the application form and verify all the details entered. If required, make changes and modifications.
Step 7: Click on the “COMPLETE REGISTRATION” button only after verifying that all the details entered are correct.
Step 8: Pay the application fee/intimation charges through online mode using a debit card, credit card, or net banking.
Step 9: Take a printout of the application form and e-receipt for future reference.
Examination pattern
The examination for the post of Assistant in the Reserve Bank of India will be conducted in three phases:
Preliminary Examination
The preliminary examination will be conducted online and will consist of objective-type questions. The duration of the exam will be 60 minutes, and it will carry a total of 100 marks. The exam will have three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability.

Main Examination
The main examination will also be conducted online and will consist of objective-type questions. The duration of the exam will be 135 minutes, and it will carry a total of 200 marks. The exam will have five sections: Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness, and Test of Computer Knowledge.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language/s of the State concerned as detailed in Annex-IV. As per the notice, candidates not proficient in the Official / Local Language shall be disqualified.
