Posting footage from a spa on a boat cruising through Sydney Harbour, Wilson shared the update in her caption.
“Working really hard has meant that, coz of all the stress, I’ve gained 14kg (30 pounds)!” she said.
“It makes me feel bad about myself … it shouldn’t … but it does.”
“I’m really proud of the work I’ve been doing on new movies and my memoir, it’s just been a LOT and I’ve lost focus on my healthy lifestyle.
“Anyone else going through the same thing?”
Wilson was quick to receive an inflow of supportive comments from her followers, sharing messages of positivity.
“Your body is allowed to be comfortable. Keep up with your healthy choices and fitness, but allow for the joy and little things that make you happy. At the end of the day, your weight and body don’t define you,” one said.
“We’ll love you whatever you weigh. I also struggle with this. It takes ages to drop the weight, and it comes back within weeks.”
A second said: “It’s hard! Everyone is proud of you, but we already loved you, didn’t we? No matter what size, you’re still beautiful & hilarious.”
“Don’t care about your weight, we care about YOU. Life is hard and our bodies go through seasons. You’re incredible,” added another.
The messages struck a chord with the actress who went on to edit her caption, adding: “I woke up this morning and read all your comments — they bring a tear to my eye. Thanks everyone!”.
Health journey
Wilson has been open with her weight and health issues since her 2020 self-proclaimed “Year of Health”, where she went on to lose more than 30kg.
She previously revealed that in her earlier career while filming one of her most well-known roles — Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect franchise — she was not allowed to lose more than 3kg.
“I couldn’t lose a massive amount of weight because I was in the contracts for that movie,” the Australian star previously said on the podcast Call Her Daddy about her health before 2020.
“You can’t lose, I think it’s not more than 10 pounds (4kg), or gain more than 10 pounds.”
Once Wilson finished the three films in 2017, she indicated that fertility issues kickstarted the drive to lose weight.
“I went to see a fertility doctor and he was like, ‘You’d have a much better chance with fertility if you were healthier’,” she said.
“It really hit me hard because I was living a fantastic bigger life.”
Wilson said she “slowly became healthier”, changing her diet and eating habits.
After reaching her goal weight of 74kg in 2020, Wilson kept up her approach and said she had never felt better.
