Residents asked to have their say on proposed Dawesville Cut Foreshore redevelopment

Mandurah residents are being asked to have their say on a proposed redevelopment of part of the Dawesville Channel’s south east foreshore.

The City of Mandurah is taking feedback on the latest part of the master plan for the area bordered by Thisbe Drive and Estuary Road, Caddadup Reserve and the Dawesville Channel.

Stage one of the project will see works to provide water supply to the area completed by mid-year, with the city seeking feedback on its plans for stage two and three.

The city’s masterplan for the area proposes a “unique place with a ‘Dawesville feel’” which is described as “easygoing, relaxed, country, nature and estuary”.

These stages of the project have several proposed changes to the area including updates to the recreation and play areas, a new playground, exercise equipment, fencing, shelters and barbecue and picnic areas installed.

The plan includes a proposed new 33-bay carpark that would include areas for coffee van parking and seasonal food vans.

There could also be improvements to pathways, added educational signage and revegetation planting.

The construction for stage two is expected to begin in the 2024-25 financial year with the third stage to be completed in the following year.

The city is hosting a drop-in feedback session May 10 at the RSL Club at 1 Thisbe Drive from 3pm-5pm.
