Retired couple win Set for Life prize after Lotto ticket bought from Northam Central Newsagency

One lucky couple from WA’s Wheatbelt have won a Set for Life prize which will see them claim $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

The winning ticket was purchased from Northam Central Newsagency and matched the numbers to WA’s first Set for Life Division One prize for this year earlier this month.

The fortunate retired couple admitted to not checking the ticket right away, leaving it forgotten on the kitchen table for days.

They said they plan to pay off their kids’ mortgages with the winning money.

“My husband kept asking me if I had checked my ticket,” the winner said.

“Life got in the way, but I eventually got around to checking the ticket and then I discovered we had won.

“It’s no wonder my husband kept asking me to check the ticket. I guess in this instance, hubby knows best.”
