Riley Gaines launching Outkick podcast in transgender sports fight

OutKick continues to add to its commentator ranks.

Riley Gaines, the former Kentucky swimmer who has been outspoken against trans women competing in women’s sports, is joining the site’s OTT network, The Post has confirmed.

“This past year I’ve unexpectedly turned into the liaison for all things surrounding the fairness in women’s sports issue after speaking out against my own experience in competing against and changing in a locker room with a male claiming the identity of a woman,” Gaines said in a statement.

“Since then, I’ve changed my life plans and decided to spend all my time and energy in fighting to save women’s sports while also understanding the broader war on women our nation faces.”

Gaines became passionate about the matter after she competed against Lia Thomas, the transgender UPenn swimmer who ultimately won a national championship in the 500-yard race in 2022.

Gaines tied Thomas for fifth in the 200-meter championship, and was taken aback when the NCAA awarded a trophy to Thomas but not to her.

Gaines’ podcast, which will be called “Gaines for Girls,” debuts on Wednesday, July 12.

“The aim is to share perspectives from elite athletes, medical professionals, policy experts, and others who have been affected by the cultural issues plaguing America, so the general public doesn’t believe the lie that this is a ‘non-issue,’” Gaines said.

“OutKick is the perfect outlet for this podcast given their understanding of sports, politics, and fighting for our freedoms. It’s up to us as a nation to stand up for what’s right, moral, and fair and this podcast is a place to facilitate those conversations. Time to roll up our sleeves and say enough is enough!”
