Saks Fifth Avenue reveals its new women’s store in Beverly Hills

It’s a milestone in the history of Los Angeles department stores. Almost 4 years ago, the famous Barneys New York department store closed its doors at 9570 Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills. Since 2001, the building has belonged to the New York-based Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp. who acquired it from the Japanese retailer Isetan Co. The latter leased the store after Barneys filed for bankruptcy in 1996.

Similar in style to the main Hollywood Regency building, 9570 Wilshire boulevard was completed in 1993 and was renovated in 2020 by the HBC group, which acquired the Barney’s brand. Award-winning architecture and design firm Arcadis transformed the store, bringing to life the distinct identity of the Saks Fifth Avenue brand while paying homage to the building’s history. Notably, Arcadis also worked on the new 100,000 square foot Tiffany’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York in 2023.
 
With 136,000 square feet of space, the new six-level shopping destination will offer a select luxury assortment of ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, jewelry, beauty products and accessories from iconic luxury brands and emerging designer brands, including more than 25 brands new to Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills.

The main floor will boast an expansive 5,000-square-foot area dedicated to footwear, nearly doubling Saks Fifth Avenue’s shoe department in Beverly Hills, alongside a preeminent assortment of handbags and leather goods.
 
The second floor will be the ultimate destination for fine jewerly in Beverly Hills, featuring limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces from world-renowed jewelers including Chopard, Graff, Lorraine Schwartz, Repossi, and Vhernier, among others. The third and fourth floors will feature designer collections from premier luxury brands, including Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, Brunello Cucinelli, Celine, Thom Browne, Fendi, Loewe, Valentino and more. 

Saks Fifth Avenue also partnered with leading luxury fashion houses to create significant boutique spaces dedicated to each house throughout the store, including Chanel on the fifth floor and Dior, Gucci and Louis Vuitton on the second floor.
 
According to the Saks Fifth Avenue team, the new location will also offer unique luxury services and highly personalized shopping experiences, including an expanded Fifth Avenue Club. It features 15 luxurious private styling suites and a team of expert Saks stylists, who will provide customers with personal shopping and styling services. It also features an exclusive private outdoor terrace with stunning views of the Hollywood Hills. Additional luxury services include by-appointment only beauty treatment rooms, private jewelry viewings and an on-demand beverage service throughout the store.
