Matildas star Sam Kerr made it a double celebration when she held an engagement party with close family and friends on New Year’s Eve.
The Perth-raised soccer sensation stayed close to fiancee Kristie Mewis as they enjoyed the day at The Raffles Hotel in Applecross.
The loved-up couple posted images of the celebration on their joint Instagram account, showing a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of fun and laughs.
In a short speech, Kerr said that she couldn’t wait to tie the knot.

The couple looked carefree as they wandered around in bikinis, each with a towel slung around their neck.
The festive holiday in WA comes just weeks after Kerr shared a romantic photo from the moment she proposed to Mewis on social media.
Speculation had been rife that the couple were engaged since mid-September when an Instagram post showed Mewis wearing a ring.
They officially announced their engagement on November 9 via an interview with People Magazine.
