That can be a security problem as you are essentially revealing your password.

If like many you type your password slowly, you could unknowingly be putting yourself at even greater risk.

But there is one way to protect yourself against cyber crooks who could be after your personal details and money.

Password visibility is turned ON by default on Samsung Galaxy devices but it can be switched OFF.

Simply go into Settings and select ‘Security and privacy’ and tap on ‘More security settings’

This will take you to ‘Make password visible’ and you will be given the option to toggle ON or OFF – select the latter.

This option exists in every version of One UI to date, including One UI 6.0.

You may also find it on pre-One UI Galaxy phones.

Your password will now just appear as a row of dots and hopefully put you at a lower risk of having your security compromised.

You can do the same for the lock screen pattern if you’re using one.

But this is found in a totally different place.

Open Settings, go to ‘Lock screen’, tap ‘Secure lock settings’ then ‘the ‘Make pattern visible’.

Toggle OFF and you’ll keep your lock screen pattern invisible.
