Local San Jose Sharks fans will need a subscription to Hulu or ESPN+ to watch the team’s game against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night.
The Sharks game is the final one this season scheduled to be shown exclusively on ESPN+ and Hulu.
Thursday’s game starts at 7:30 (PST). Mike Monaco is doing play-by-play with Cassie Campbell-Pascall as the analyst.
A subscription to ESPN+ costs $10.99 per month.
All other Sharks games this regular season are being telecast on NBC Sports California. Every game can be heard on the online-only Sharks Audio Network.
This is the second meeting this season between the Sharks (9-20-3) and the Coyotes (16-13-2), who have been streaky of late. They reeled off five straight wins from Nov. 25 to Dec. 4 before they began a four-game skid.
Arizona snapped that losing streak with a 1-0 victory over the Sharks on Dec. 15, and have now won three in a row and are in the Western Conference’s second wild-card spot.
The Sharks have lost three straight games and entered Thursday in 32nd and last place in the NHL’s overall standings with a .328 points percentage.
Sharks coach David Quinn said Thursday that he wanted to see his team play with just “a little more pace.”
“I thought it was a little bit of a sluggish game for us from start to finish,” he added. “There was an uptick in our play in the third period, but it was just an OK game in a lot of areas, and OK isn’t going to cut it in this league. We’ve got to work from the get-go.”
The Sharks’ goalie will be Mackenzie Blackwood, who is 2-3-1 with a .898 save percentage in his last seven games. Arizona is starting Karel Vejmelka, who is 1-3-0 with a .911 save percentage in four career games against the Sharks.
