Schapelle Corby ‘wins the internet’ for comment on David Warner’s missing baggy green post

Schapelle Corby has gone viral for a comment left on David Warner’s Instagram post about his stolen backpack.

Warner, who is preparing for the final Test of his glittering career, pleaded for the backpack, which contained his baggy green, to be returned.

In a video message, the 37-year-old explained the backpack was taken out of his actual luggage while it was being freighted from Melbourne to Sydney.

Corby, who was famously convicted for smuggling marijuana into Indonesia in 2015, left a comment on the video.

“Qantas ! Well do I have a story for you,” she wrote, with a mind blown emoji.

During Corby’s publicised case, her legal team raised the possibility that the drugs were placed in her bag while it was in transit from Brisbane to Sydney to Bali.

The defence was ultimately unsuccessful and Corby spent nine years in jail before being released on parole and then returning to Australia in 2017.

Corby’s comment on Warner’s post quickly gained attention and had over 3,000 likes inside four hours.

Many fans enjoyed the post with one labelling it a “god tier comment,” and others saying Corby has “won the internet.”

She later added a post to her stories, saying: “Hope you can get your belongings back,” on a photo of her TV, which had Channel 7’s afternoon news on.

Warner, meanwhile, hopes to have his well-worn baggy green returned in time for his farewell Test, which begins on Wednesday.

“Someone has taken my backpack out of my actual luggage, which had my girls’ presents in there and inside the backpack was my baggy green. That’s sentimental to me and something that I’d love to have back,” he said in the video message.

Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley joined the message in a statement later on Tuesday.

“I implore anyone with information about the location of Dave’s bag and baggy green caps to come forward so he can proudly wear his cap for a final time at the SCG,” he said.

If Warner is unable to locate the cap before Wednesday’s third Test against Pakistan at the SCG, a replacement will be granted by Cricket Australia.

But it would be a hollow feeling wearing it given this is the last of Warner’s 112 Tests for Australia.

Warner said he had spoken with Qantas about the situation.

In a statement provided to 7NEWS, Qantas said they are doing everything they can.

“Our freight teams are continuing to search the terminals in Melbourne and Sydney and reviewing CCTV to try and locate the missing bag. We appreciate the importance of this bag and we’re doing everything we can to help find it,” they said.
