SCOTLAND goalkeeper Angus Gunn has sparked a debate on social media for his challenge on Hull City forward Aaron Connolly.
The Norwich No1 collided with the Republic of Ireland international during the 2-1 win for the Canaries at the MKM Stadium on Friday night.
Clips of the incident have since gone viral and fans have been embroiled in heated exchanges over whether the goalkeeper deserved a red card.
The flashpoint occurred when the Hull City striker chased down a loose ball in the first half and collided with Gunn who rose highest and headed clear.
Referee Matthew Donohue deemed there to be a foul on the Tartan Army stopper and awarded a free-kick to Norwich, a decision that left many fans shocked.
Several believe the goalkeeper was fortunate to avoid a sending off as they claim he could have seriously injured Connolly.
