The LM381 flight departed Edinburgh Airport at around 1.33pm and was heading to Bergen, Norway.

But the aircraft was forced to abandon its flight path just minutes into the journey.

It was forced to divert back to the airport in the capital city due to a suspected issue with the aircraft.

Images from FlightRadar24 show that the plane did not make it out of Scotland before it had to turn back.

However, it managed to land safely without any incidents, according to Edinburgh Live.

The aircraft was then met by numerous fire engines as it touched back down on the runway.

Bosses at Edinburgh Airport told the Scottish Sun that emergency services attended as a precaution.

They added that this is standard practice.
