Scottie Scheffler Put in Handcuffs By Louisville Police

The number one ranked golfer on the PGA tour was cuffed and walked to a police car hours before he was set to tee off on day two of the PGA Championship at the Valhalla golf course in Louisville, Kentucky.

After a reported misunderstanding with traffic flow, Scottie Scheffler has been detained by police in handcuffs after he tried to drive past a police officer amid heavy traffic. A shuttle bus struck and killed a pedestrian outside Valhalla Golf Club, which led to a delayed start of the second round and caused heavy traffic.

ESPN reports:

Louisville Metro Police Department confirmed to ESPN.

The police officer attempted to attach himself to Scheffler’s car, and Scheffler then stopped his vehicle at the entrance to Valhalla. The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs.

The unidentified man was attempting to cross Shelbyville Road, outside the gate to the club, around 5 a.m. Friday when he was struck by a bus in a lane that was dedicated for buses. Police said the man died at the scene.

Sports Journalist Daniel Hussey posted his own vdeo of the arrest on X in which an arresting officer can be heard saying “right now, he’s going to jail.”
