Motherwell are looking to improve on their ninth-place finish under Stuart Kettlewell last term.

‘Well were the division’s top scorers after the Old Firm with 56 goals, and they are reportedly looking to add to that goal threat with the addition of a new striker.

That’s according to Serbian Football on X, formerly Twitter, who say that the North Lanarkshire club are on the brink of signing NK Domzale forward Filip Stuparevic.

The hitman is yet to make his full Serbian debut, and scored six goals for Domzale last season in the top flight in Slovenia.

Stuparevic has been on the books of a British club before, although he never actually made an appearance for them.

As an 18 year old he signed for current English Championship side Watford, with the Hornets reportedly beating out interest from Juventus and Valencia to pick him up.

Now 23, Stuparevic has since played in Serbia, the Czech Republic, the UAE and Slovenia, scoring just 14 goals for six clubs since 2019.

European football analyst TsubasaAnalysis replied to the post on X, giving a verdict on the proposed move.

He said: “Had a decent end to the season with some solid performances.”

Motherwell are currently in discussions with Los Angeles-based entrepreneurs Erik and Courtney Barmack over potential investment in the club.

The 20-year-old ran down his contract with the Serie A giants and will move to Ibrox on 1 July when his deal officially expires.

“We are excited to add a talented young player in Clinton to the squad.
