Wes Gordon brought his fall 2024 Carolina Herrera collection to the Seattle Art Museum on Tuesday night for the museum’s Spring Into Art fundraiser. The annual event, which raises support for the museum and wider Seattle art community, is hosted by the Seattle Art Museum Supporters and sponsored by Nordstrom.
The evening kicked off with cocktails and a tour of the museum’s “Calder: In Motion, The Shirley Family Collection” exhibition before a seated presentation featuring looks from the latest Carolina Herrera collection.
“The Seattle Art Museum is an institution I have wanted to visit for some time, and to have the chance to collaborate with Nordstrom, a longstanding partner of SAM, to host a presentation of the Carolina Herrera collection feels very special,” said Gordon, adding that his latest collection “was inspired by women who are strong, powerful and resilient, and I can’t imagine a better city that embodies this.”
The following morning, the designer hosted a trunk show at the Nordstrom Seattle flagship.
“I loved meeting the women of Seattle and seeing how they wear Herrera, and what speaks to them from the new collection,” Gordon added, asked about highlights from his trip to the Emerald City. “The Calder in Motion exhibition at SAM was also exceptional.”
