Sergio Tacchini has opened a pop-up at Selfridges in London that runs until 6 August. It’s good timing for the brand that’s known for its tennis links as it’s opening just as the Wimbledon tournament makes Britons think all-things tennis for a few weeks and as many international visitors to London are there purely because of the championships.

The Selfridges partnership is dubbed Causing a Racquet and offers customers “the opportunity to explore exclusive designs and unique installations showcasing the brand’s unique heritage” within the Menswear Atrium of the Oxford Street flagship.
It draws inspiration from the brand’s “deep-rooted tennis legacy and Italian designs,” we’re told. The company, which was a major driver of the injection of colour into previously-all-white tennis clothing, has gone for a can’t-miss-it mix of tennis and Italian references.
The space features marble-effect oversized tennis rackets, tennis balls, Roman statues, and broken columns creating a ‘Roman ruins’ atmosphere that “pays homage to the brand’s origins”. In neutral tones, the product provides pops of colour leaning into the installation’s disruptive theme.
The pop-up will offer spring/summer designs including classics such as the Dallas and Sirocco Track Tops. There will also be exclusives such as the Vento Track Jacket, a 90s-inspired windbreaker, and matching shorts and polos adorned with archive-inspired prints. The Knit Pack meanwhile “showcases Sergio Tacchini’s expertise in unique takes on sportswear classics”.
