ITALIAN Serie A sides Cagliari and Sassuolo have been credited with an interest in Dons midfielder Connor Barron.
The Scotland U21 star is out of contract this summer and has yet to agree terms on an extended stay at Pittodrie.
Aberdeen will be due a development fee should the 21-year-old, who came through the Dons academy, decide to move on.
Barron has previously been linked with moves to Celtic and Belgian side KRC Genk.
And it isn’t the first time he’s been connected with Italian sides either.
Indeed, Sassuolo have been monitoring Barron since the summer of 2022 and Bologna were previously understood to be keen on the midfielder.

If Barron does decide to head out to Italy, he will follow in the footsteps of several young Scottish talents to have move to Serie A in recent years.
Lima Henderson started the trend when he swapped Celtic for Bari in 2018, after a year on loan at Hibs.
He’s been plying his trade in Italy ever since, playing in both Serie A and Serie B for Hellas Verona, Empoli, Lecce and Palermo.
Josh Doig left Hibs to join Verona in 2022 for around £3m and is now with Sassuolo.
Scotland international Jack Hendry also had a brief spell on loan at Cremonese when he fell out of favour at Club Brugge.
Aaron Hickey joined Bologna from Hearts for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £1.5 million in 2020 and after two impressive years he won a move to Premier League newbies Brentford and has turned himself into a Scotland regular.
But it’s perhaps Barron’s former teammate Lewis Ferguson who has been the most high-profile success story.
Ferguson has been a revelation since his own move to Bologna two-and-a-half years ago.
He now captains the side under Thiago Motta and has attracted interest from the likes of Juventus and Napoli.
Ferguson broke the legendary Denis Law’s record as the top Scottish scorer in Serie A history in December last year and is now up to 13 goals.
