In addition, rainfall totals of around 5-8 inches were predicted in certain regions, bringing rainfall totals of 48 hours as big as 14 inches in certain areas according to the weather service. In eight Southern California countries, a state of emergency was announced.

An evacuation warning for flood-prone, low-lying areas was issued by Mayor Todd Gloria in San Diego, which were pummelled by heavy rainfall in the past week and were inundated two weeks ago. Certain areas which are outside the city witnessed up to 7 inches of rainfall in the past two days.
Gloria has stated that he understands the tiredness coming from these recurrent warnings and recognizes that there might be a settling down of fatigue. However, he assures that the decision to issue the warning should not be taken faintly and that everybody should be prepared and cautious about it.
Los Angeles has witnessed over 4 inches of rain on Sunday. In over 20 years, it was the most rain recorded in one day, surpassing the average for February.
