Sézane, Momonì Drop Summer Capsule Rich in Florals, Stripes, Bold Colors

Following the opening of its first pop-up in the Italian market, Parisian brand Sézane continues to pen a love letter to the country by unveiling a limited-edition capsule collection with local brand Momonì.

The lineup oozes summer vibes thanks to floral patterns galore seen on frilly blouses, halter-neck tops, feminine dresses, midi and long skirts, as well as striped motifs in popping colors splashed on separates such as shirts and shorts.

Overall, the range is to include a total of 40 items encompassing ready-to-wear, sandals and wedges, embroidered bags and colorful jewelry.

Morgane Sézalory, who founded Sézane in 2013, recalled how the two brands first got in touch last year and the synergy evolved into a collaboration. “After several creative meetings in Sézane’s office in Paris, we imagined together what would have been the best shared journey.…[We mixed] prints and shapes from both brands with an ultimate goal: [give] a taste of Italian style to [put] our clients in the mood for holidays,” Sézalory said.

Priced between 50 euros and 180 euros, the capsule collection will be previewed at Sézane’s new pop-up in Milan on Friday, before it officially drops on Sunday on the brand’s online store and its unit in Paris’ seventh arrondissement. A selection of pieces will be also available at Sézane’s stores in London’s Notting Hill and New York.

Sézalory teased she was eyeing collaborations with Italian talents when she opened the brand’s first physical outpost in the market last month. Nestled in Milan’s Golden Triangle and running through July 20, the space keeps with the homey feeling of the brand’s retail template, which kicked off in Paris in 2015 with the opening of L’Appartement, based on Sézalory’s own apartment.

The B Corp-certified, boho brand is known for its subtly feminine creations — mostly wearable and unfussy designs.

This spirit is shared with Momonì, which was launched as part of the NYKY fashion company in 2009 and initially conceived as a lingerie brand before pivoting into a contemporary womenswear label, rooted in feminine and fluid garments in silk satin, soft crêpe de chine, sheer tulle and light lace.

The company has many ties with France, too, as founders Alessandro and Michela Biasotto met and lived in Paris for three decades before returning to Italy in 2002. Today the brand has 18 stores and 43 shops-in-shop, in addition to an expansive network of specialty stores carrying the brand.

In 2010, NYKY also introduced its second women’s brand, Attic and Barn, followed by the launch of OOF Wear in 2016, a label known for its reversible multicolored jackets for men and women.
