TWO Porcupines escaped a Scots farm and were found roaming around a residential street.
Residents were baffled as the cheeky duo were spotted in Heathhall, Dumfries on Saturday morning.
Local Keith Higham shared the unusual visitors to a community Facebook group.
He said: “Beware folks, there are two porcupines at large in MacDonald Loaning.
“Yes, honestly.”
But they were eventually captured by farmers more than two miles away from their enclosure.
The pair had escaped from nearby Dalscone Farm where they were part of a new small animal experience.
But they had been kept secret until it is to open to the public on March 25.
In a video posted to their Facebook page, Farmer Ben Best revealed that the porcupines had escaped by hauling off their pen door.
He said: “We did break the internet around Dumfries.

“These guys got moved up into our new small animal experience and they have a big six-metre pen both indoors and outside.
“They hauled off their little door indoors to outdoors and broke it.
“They escaped and ended up two miles away in Heathhall in someone’s garden.”
The farmer said they panicked that morning when they saw the steel had been snapped from around the enclosure.
Porcupines are strong and were able to pull the door off the hinges and escape.
And he revealed porcupines only tend to go 100 metres from their homes but were found two miles away.
A group of workers were then called to the garden in Heathhall where they successfully managed to corner the duo and take them back to the farm.
Farmer Ben also said they are relatively timid creatures and wouldn’t shed their quills.

This is not the first time the farm has had Dumfries on the lookout for quirky animals.
Back in 2017, two cops were stunned when they came across an alpaca while out on patrol at 2am.
