THIS is the moment a raging Scots priest branded a woman “evil” and an “ignoramus” in a raging tirade… because she was late for mass.
Father James Grant was filmed exploding into a fuming rant outside St Francis Xavier’s Parish at Motherwell’s Carfin Grotto.
The woman began filming as she approached the church when she was confronted by the Clergyman.
He exited the main door and walked towards her before berating her for being late to mass.
Throughout his tirade, the parish priest began shouting and angrily pointing in her face.
Fr Grant stormed towards her saying: “Mass starts at 9 o’clock. You are consistently late for Mass.
“You are just pure rude and ignorant.
“You are an ignoramus of a woman.”
The priest then makes remarks about her filming him, saying: “Have you got it all? I look forward to seeing it on YouTube.”
Fr Grant continues to insult the elderly parishioner as she tries to go into the chapel, branding her silly and evil all while aggressively pointing in her face.

He was filmed saying: “You are a silly, silly, silly, EVIL woman, that’s what you are.
“Who are you going to show that to now? Who are you going to show that to? You clown.”
He then begins shouting at the woman, repeating: “Mass starts at 9 o’clock, you are just RUDE!”
Fr Grant then swipes at the woman’s phone while she records him.
He then holds open the parish door for another woman and child to walk in before closing it in the woman’s face.
It is understood the incident has left the parishioner terrified to return to mass and has been seriously upset by Fr Grant’s tirade.
The incident has been slammed by fellow parishioners, with one branding Fr Grant a “tyrant”.
They told the Daily Record: “This priest, who calls himself a man of God stands on the church steps as an elderly parishioner is running late for mass service.
“He pounds her with a tirade of verbal abuse and even raises his hand to her as she tries to enter the Chapel.
“Father Grant is a tyrant. He abuses people and he does not care who he hurts or upsets.
“He shouldn’t be wearing the cloth because he is a disgrace of a man who is not fit to wear a dog collar.”
